About Vale Farm Cottages

Set on a 70 acre arable farm, in an area of outstanding natural beauty, 6 miles from the Suffolk Heritage Coastline, these two recent conversions of old farm buildings combine comfort with a superbly secluded location. Beside the cottages, a footpath leads across farmland to Blythburgh and Southwold, an elegant seaside resort. Close by are sandy beaches, RSPB Minsmere and Dunwich Heath (N.T.), whilst Aldeburgh is a little further. Working mills, castles, a wildlife park and Sutton Hoo are easily accessible. Village pub 1 mile, farm shop 2 miles and market town of Halesworth 3 miles.

With its wide-open skies, peaceful countryside, quiet country lanes and wild, largely unspoilt coastline, Suffolk is a wonderful holiday destination. And what better way to discover this quintessentially English county than by taking a break in one of our holiday cottages in Suffolk?

There’s something for everyone in the towns dotted along the coast. From genteel Felixstowe, atmospheric Orford and cultured Aldeburgh to picture-postcard Southwold and family-friendly Lowestoft, each has a character that is very much its own. Our Suffolk cottage holidays are also the perfect way to get away from it all and explore the unspoilt heaths, nature reserves and estuaries that border the coast in this part of the country.

At Bury St. Edmunds you’ll find the ruins of what was once the richest Abbey in England, as well as its smallest pub. Try a pint of the locally-brewed Greene King ale while you’re here. A few miles south lies Lavenham, considered by many to be the most perfect English town, and with its rows of charming black and white timber-framed houses, little changed from medieval times.

Suffolk is also famous for the quality of its food, much of it sourced locally, which you can sample in the wide range of excellent pubs and restaurants throughout the county.
