Kinpurnie Estate - Ralston Bothy
A 9,000 acre Estate, stretching from between the Vale of Strathmore over to straddle the Sidlaw hills, is the gloriously peaceful setting for these delightful properties. Enjoying different locations throughout the Estate and renovated to a very high standard carefully retaining their traditional features, they all have very comfortably and stylishly furnished interiors and charming gardens and all (except Pitermo Cottage) boast a private hot tub.
Ralston Cottage and Ralston Bothy are set 50 yards from each other, tucked down a private drive, half a mile from the shop, post office and pub serving food in the village of Newtyle. A mile from the same village enjoying an open farmland aspect, the adjoining properties of East and West Newbigging sit on a quiet country lane. On another part of the Estate, on a little country road and within 3 miles of a pub serving food and a village shop, Pitermo Cottage and Farmhouse enjoy a gently elevated position with far reaching rural views whilst luxurious West Keith Cottage is tucked away at the end of a farm track in the heart of the estate, about 5 miles from a shop and pub serving food.
Kinpurnie Estate offers excellent opportunities for walking can be enjoyed with fabulous views at every turn and beautiful picnic spots. Shooting (by arrangementon) can be enjoyed on the Estate in season, there is a 'put and take' trout fishery (March - October), and stabling available for visitors' own horses (by arrangement – extra charge). Perfect for a relaxing holiday in tranquil surroundings, all the beautifully furnished cottages at Kinpurnie enjoy cosy central heating and open fires, making them ideal for off season holidays and short breaks.
The rolling Angus Glens, are a joy to explore. Glamis Castle, the childhood home of the late Queen Mother, is close by and Dundee (12 miles), boasts excellent shopping, leisure facilities, restaurants and galleries.
