A little further afield, there are sandy beaches, with pretty coves and abundant seabirds, sweeping up to expansive Lunan Bay and scenic coastal walking. Kirriemuir (6 miles) the birthplace of J M Barrie (creator of Peter Pan) boasts a selection of shops, pubs serving food and a restaurant.
