Bealy Court - Primrose Cottage
Set in the peace and beauty of its glorious 24 acres of fields and woodland, a haven for abundant and varied wildlife, Bealy Court offers a range of leisure facilities guaranteed to appeal to all ages – perfect for family holidays. The lovely stone cottages, formerly a range of barns, have been stylishly converted and completely refurbished attaining an English Tourism Council 4 Star grading. They cluster around an attractively landscaped courtyard – open to the south and offering splendid views over a tapestry of fields and woodland to the distant hills of Dartmoor. Each property retains a high degree of charm and character, with original features such as oak roof timbers, joists, stone walls and beams, all carefully preserved. A short distance away, and attached to the owners' beautiful 17th century manor house is Bealy Court Lodge. This delightful property enjoys its own secluded terrace and garden.
On one side of the courtyard stands a leisure building housing an indoor, heated swimming pool, a full size snooker table, a pool table, a lounge area and a comfortably furnished table tennis room. The spacious grounds, which include a croquet lawn, offer plenty of freedom for children to play, whilst adults can relax or enjoy quiet strolls in the pleasant rural atmosphere. An all weather tennis court, built to LTA standards, will require a little more exertion and across a meadow beyond the courtyard, there are two charming lakes where anglers young and old can try their luck for the trout, carp and other coarse fish.
Secluded and tranquil, Bealy Court is an ideal touring base, with the wilds of Exmoor and Dartmoor to explore close by. The north Devon coast, with its choice of golden beaches is a comfortable drive away. Barnstaple and Tiverton, both with sports centres and Ilfracombe, where sea fishing is offered, are all within easy reach. There are several large fishing lakes and reservoirs nearby and arrangements can be made for local river fishing.
