Elliot House
This lovely family home, set in large walled gardens on the fringes of Arbroath, provides very spacious and comfortable accommodation – perfect for family gatherings. Within a mile are fine sandy beaches, shops and good pubs and restaurants, many of whom serve the fresh kippers and Arbroath Smokies (smoked haddock) for which this ancient fishing port is justly famous. A stocked trout loch just 5 minutes' walk from Elliot House offers good fishing and a delightful spot for picnics, the nearby Angus Glens promise wonderful hill walking amidst breathtaking scenery and a local nature trail provides superb sightings of birds and other wildlife. There is an excellent choice of links golf courses in the area. Dundee boasts extensive shopping and leisure facilities, and a waterfront displaying its proud maritime history featuring one of the world's most famous ships, the Discovery of Captain Scott's Antarctica expedition. Romantic castles and Iron Age earth houses as well as a host of interesting and lively attractions to suit all tastes are easily accessible.
